Salary – Up to £40k – Liverpool

The post holder will lead a team of web developers under the general direction of the IS Development Manager

The role is responsible for the day to day scheduling of the development activities of their team, ensuring that any work is carried out to a high quality and that any agreed deadlines or SLAs are met

This is predominantly a hands-on role and the post holder will be expected to contribute significantly to the overall output of their team

Duties

Management of the Business Solutions team

• Schedule the day to day workload of the team ensuring there is cover at all times within the team for any issues
• Ensure any significant issues regarding delays or quality  of output are escalated to IS senior management
• Ensure the adherence to departmental processes and policies by your team
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the best practices within the Business Solutions team

Management of Business Solutions team staff

• Train, coach, and mentor team leader and individuals
• Plan and conduct performance appraisals of Business Solutions team staff
• Set monthly objectives and measure performance against these objectives

Typical functional activities

•  Contribute to the overall design of software, applications and infrastructure under direction from IS senior managers
• Review business needs and help determine whether off-the-shelf or bespoke applications best meet requirements
• Regularly review tools and methodologies used to help ensure the Business Solutions team can maximise their efficiency
• Produce detailed specifications for any systems to be developed
• Design and develop scalable and robust error free solutions
• Produce system code and review system code developed by colleagues
• Present ideas for business improvement including cost proposals
• Help ensure regular communication takes place between the development team leads
