We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner to join our team in Sheffield for a prestigious legal firm we work with.
The Role :
Our client provides two distinct services based around the area of pre- and post-settlement of personal injury cases. Pre-settlement services involve the preparation of expert financial reports to be used by financial advisers delivering analysis and recommendations to be used by the Courts, barristers and solicitors in connection with personal injury case work. This work is of a technical nature and requires a strong knowledge of Excel and the ability to extract relevant data from legal case files and apply this to the report. Post-settlement services surround the provision of financial planning and investment advice for those clients in receipt of a compensation award.
The primary function of the role is to work on the Post-settlement side of para planning with the aim of providing a high quality report writing service to the financial advisers. Experience in creating adviser suitability financial advice reports would be an advantage. There will be some interaction with clients. This could be with clients in their own right or with solicitors acting on behalf of their clients.
Applicants should have experience of working in a similar role. Strong Excel skills would be a distinct advantage.
Applicants should enjoy working as part of a team as well as being able to work under their own initiative. They must have the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload and meet tight deadlines. As the role will involve liaising with a range of people on a frequent basis in a professional manner applicants should also possess good interpersonal and organisational skills and an understanding of internal client care.
The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate strong IT ability and confidence in using a range of computer packages, including the full suite of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Intelligent Office or a similar software package would be an advantage. Applicants should have a strong education background. Ideally we are looking for applicants who are educated to at least A – Level standard and ideally to be Level 4 qualified.
